Board Games on the PC

There are a few board games I know of that you can play online of on electronic devices so I thought I’d share any with you that I know of. Also, I encourage you to write in and share with everyone of any that you know.

1 – Race For the Galaxy

A version can be located here. It’s pretty neat. It’s solo play, against AI opponents.

2 – Small World for iPad

I’d love to give this a try, but alas, I do not own an iPad. But it can be located here.

3 – Vassal Engine

I have downloaded the client software and modules of titles I own, but I haven’t run into any opponents yet. It’s basically scanned images and software written in java to play board games online. It’s located here.

4 – Ticket to Ride Online

Play Ticket to Ride online! It’s really neat. There are always people to play against. You can play on days of wonder’s web site, or buy the client software and play solo against AI, or play against real opponents. That runs about $10 dollars or so. You get the American maps version but you can also buy and demo the European maps as well.

I tried out Ticket to Ride online since you get a few free plays after you’ve bought the real game. And when I played it I realized we’ve been playing the game wrong this whole time!!

Hey there, thanks for the comments! Welcome to the site! I’m curious, how were you playing ticket to ride incorrectly?

Instead of performing only one action a turn, we were doing them all during our turn. We would pick two new cards, then buy track, then pick a new destination if we wanted. We didn’t realize we could only do one of those on a turn.
